PLICKERS' ACTIVITY

Our Plickers activity is aimed at English learners between levels B1 and B2. We will provide the link to the package containing the 2 different parts of the activity. Listening, grammar and vocabulary will be assessed. All activities will be accompanied by visual and auditory resources related to music.

Structure

Regarding the first part, it is divided into 5 questions. There will be activities on: Verb tenses, comparatives and superlatives, and countable and uncountable nouns.

The second part is divided into 5 questions where the following will be assessed: embedding questions, vocabulary and listening skills. Regarding the latter, there will be 3 different fragments of songs that will sound in each audio, in addition to a phrase that corresponds to each fragment but with missing words. The learner must select the correct option that contains the missing words. The audio should only be played a maximum of 3 times.

In our opinion, Plickers is an innovative activity to carry out in class. It is flexible for any type of activity you want to carry out and it is easy to use. In addition, it helps to integrate language classes with technology. However, if you do not use the paid version, you will find different challenges such as limits on questions or multimedia resources to use. Finally, we recommend that teachers who want to apply Plickers in their classes ensure that students do not review each other's answer sheets, as this can lead to biasing students' performance with respect to what is being assessed.
