Problem
As pre-serving teachers and contemporary subjects of this globalized and digital era, we know that multimedia content, as music, is extremely important for young people, to the point of even affecting their identity construction. For this reason, it is necessary for them to be in constant interaction with these multimedia content. However, in schools, there is an evident disconnection between the content that is to be taught and the interests of the students, which as we said before are linked to music. This disconnection leads to a lack of interest on the part of the student in classes. Learning English is no exception, despite being the language that is most closely related to multimedia content since it is present in music, movies, memes, etc. It is no secret that the level of English of students who graduate from high school does not meet the standards proposed by the Ministry of Education, and among the factors is the low performance of students who do not see interest in learning the language or simply find it difficult. For this reason, we have decided to propose a platform where English students can access to examples and explanations that develop their communication skills in this language through songs and lyrics from their favorite artists. This will make them show interest in learning the language.
Proporsal
This proposal is aimed at 11th grade students to help them reach the standard established by the Colombian Ministry of Education, which is B1 for high school graduates. This website will help students to develop skills such as grammar and listening by making them listen to the pronunciation of words and phrases in the songs, in addition to explaining the grammatical rules present there. When accessing the website, the user will find different units, in which different grammatical topics such as verb tenses, modal verbs, conditionals and the passive voice can be worked on. By clicking on the unit the user wants to learn, the grammatical topic will appear, a list of songs or artists that will be used as a resource, and a brief explanation of the topic with its respective structure and example.
